Golden Globe Award winner CYBILL SHEPHERD and Emmy Award nominee KRISTIN DAVIS will make their Broadway debuts while Emmy Award nominee JOHN STAMOS makes his Broadway straight play debut when they join the cast of the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Gore Vidal’s THE BEST MAN tomorrow, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 7:00pm.

CYBILL SHEPHERD can currently be seen on the hit Lifetime series “The Client List” with Jennifer Love Hewitt, which was recently picked up for a second season. Other recent television guest star appearances include TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” “Psych” on USA Network  and “Frank and Bash.” She made her film debut in 1971 in the highly acclaimed The Last Picture Show, which led to starring roles in The Heartbreak Kid, Daisy Miller, Taxi Driver, Chances Are, Texasville, Alice, Married to It and Once Upon a Crime to name a few. In addition to “The Client List,” Cybill has starred in three television series including, “The Yellow Rose,” “Moonlighting,” for which she won two Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination and the self-titled show “Cybill,” for which she not only won a Golden Globe, but served as the show’s executive producer. She portrayed Phyllis Kroll on the Showtime original series “The L Word” for three seasons and has also made guest appearances on “Eastwick,” “Samantha Who” and “Criminal Minds.” Other television film credits include The Hallmark Channel’s Mrs. Washington Goes to Smith, Showtime’s Open Window, the NBC’s Martha Stewart, Inc., Martha Behind Bars for CBS and Lifetime’s High Noon. In 2000, she released her memoir, “Cybill Disobedience: How I Survived Beauty Pageants, Elvis, Sex, Bruce Willis, Lies, Marriage, Motherhood, Hollywood, and the Irrepressible Urge to Say What I Think.”

JOHN STAMOS, an Emmy nominated actor and producer, continues to enjoy a wide variety of roles on film, television and the stage. On Broadway, he has had tremendous success, starring in Bye Bye Birdie and the Tony Award-winning Nine. Last summer, he starred in the Tony Award-winning musical, Hairspray, with Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur at the Hollywood Bowl. He made his Broadway debut in 1995’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and in 2002, he starred as the Emcee in Cabaret. As a producer, Stamos is currently in development with Twentieth Century Fox and Neil Meron & Craig Zadan for a feature musical set to the songs of the Beach Boys. Additional producing credits include the ABC miniseries Beach Boys: An American Family, which earned him an Emmy nomination as producer, and the highly rated CBS telefilm Martin & Lewis. From 2005-2009, he starred in NBC’s Emmy Award-winning drama series “ER,” and was also seen in the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated adaptation of Raisin in the Sun for ABC. Stamos’ career has spanned over 25 years, beginning with the hit soap “General Hospital” in which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy. He later starred in one of the most iconic family television programs playing Uncle Jesse on the popular ABC series “Full House.” He has also displayed his musical talents over the past 25 years while touring with The Beach Boys.

KRISTIN DAVIS is best known for her iconic, six season portrayal of Charlotte York in HBO’s Golden Globe and Emmy-winning series “Sex and the City”.  For her performance Kristin earned individual Best Supporting Actress nominations for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award.  Davis and her co-stars also won two Screen Actors Guild Awards® for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.  She went on to co-star in the big screen version of Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2,the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster hit.  Davis also starred as the devious Brooke Armstrong in the hit pop culture phenomenon, “Melrose Place.”  Additional television credits include the TNT Original Movie The Winning Season, also starring Matthew Modine, as well as guest-starring roles on classic shows like “Will & Grace,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” “ER” and “The Larry Sanders Show.” Most recently, Davis starred in and executive produced Of Two Minds, a Lifetime original movie that deals with mental illness and the family.  Additional feature film credits include Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the holiday comedy Deck the Halls, The Shaggy Dog and Robert Rodriguez’s children’s adventure film, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D. No stranger to the stage, Davis made her London stage debut in May 2006 as Sunny Jacobs in The Exonerated.  Some other favorite stage credits include Brave New World, a three-day marathon of 50 short plays marking the anniversary of the terrorist attacks, and Land of the Dead, opposite Paul Rudd.

A play about power, ambition, political secrets, ruthlessness and the race for the presidency, Gore Vidal’s THE BEST MAN is set at the national convention where two candidates are vying for their party’s nomination during the primary season. It’s an inside look at the dirt-digging, double-dealing, triple-crossing chicanery of presidential electioneering and what could be more fun in a presidential campaign season than these theatrical fireworks.

The production is directed by Drama Desk Award winner MICHAEL WILSON (The Orphans Home Cycle Part I, II and III, Dividing The Estate). The design team includes Tony and Drama Desk Award winning scenic designer DEREK McLANE (33 Variations, Anything Goes), Tony and Drama Desk Award winning lighting designer KENNETH POSNER (The Coast of Utopia, Part 2 – Shipwreck), five-time Tony Award nominated costume designer ANN ROTH (The Book of Mormon), Drama Desk Award winning sound designer JOHN GROMADA (Seminar, The Orphans' Home Cycle) and projection designer PETER NIGRINI (Fela!, 9 to 5: The Musical).
