(New York, NY) Producers of the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical ROCK OF AGESwhich in its record-breaking fourth year on Broadway has celebrated its one-millionth customer, its 1500th performance and seven Box Office Records – are thrilled take their place on the Top 50 Longest Running Broadway Shows in History on Sunday, March 3, 2013 with 1,544 performances surpassing the original production of Jekyll & Hyde.  Proving ROCK OF AGES is as “impossible to resist” as The New York Times says it is, the production recently played more performances on Broadway than the Tony-winning original productions of Dreamgirls, The Sound of Music, Guys & Dolls, Cabaret, The Music Man and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.

ROCK OF AGES kicked off ‘Broadway’s Best Party’ with its first preview on March 17, 2009 and opened to critical acclaim on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The show played its final performance at The Brooks Atkinson on Sunday, January 9, 2011 before re-opening at The Helen Hayes Theatre on March 24, 2011.  Now in its fourth year on Broadway, ROCK OF AGEScontinues to sell out performances at the Helen Hayes Theater, consistently making the Broadway Top 10 for capacity, average ticket price and percentage of gross potential week after week.

In addition to being a bona fide Broadway hit musical,Rock of Ages is currently rocking the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End and the Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip; is on its Second U.S. National Tour; and hit the silver screen as a major motion picture starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Furthermore, the show was a runaway success in Toronto, Australia, and its 60-city First National Tour, and has licensed productions in several additional countries, including Korea and Japan.

The music that ignited a generation is heating up Broadway in ROCK OF AGES. The classic rock love story of the decade erupts into Broadway’s Best Party, all to the sounds of such feel-good, sing-out-loud songs as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”, “I Wanna Know What Love Is”, “Here I Go Again”, “Don’t Stop Believin”and more.
